Pretty fucked up movie. I haven't watched it all but damn the first 30 minutes is pretty intense. Mo'nique's character is awesome lol. She's a great insulter, I wonder if her stand up is the same.
Mo'Nique was the only thing that kept me watching. I thought it sucked. 5/10.

i think naming the innocent heroine who everyone feels sorry for Precious is as bad as naming a character Jon Everyman. still, putting all that stuff aside, i did enjoy the movie. theres a Jamaican chick that i cant understand at all but just listening to her speak is LoLz worthy. also, Monique is crazy as shit. she gave a top notch performance. right up there with Waltz in Inglorious Basterds

Just watched it tonight intense ass movie. Really sad....mo' nique was amazing. Last t3n minutes where she broke down my friend had to goto that bathroom to cry... said it reminded him of his mother. Shits real life.
IMO her best scene is when the woman from the welfare office visits her apartment. She wears a wig, holds the kid with DS and all that shit. But what I thought was great is how she looked back and forth towards the welfare chick and Precious. Her transitions back and forth in seconds was scary, scary acting. Like, sympathetic, nice mother to FUCK YOU PRECIOUS..just through facial expressions.
I really hope she doesn't go back to being suck. She should keep it up with dramatic roles because she's not funny as a stand-up comedian or on-screen comedian. She sucks at that. Needs to stick to this.
