I thought the hit looked legal. It was unfortunate that Savard got injured, but you're supposed to have your head on a swivel when you carry the puck in open ice. It wasn't elbowing or charging. It might have been interference but Savard had just passed the puck. I just wish the NHL would remember this the next time there is an awkward collision and a Flyer is involved.
Just got back from the Flyers game. Was in the Comcast VIP suite, which was just about the only good thing about the game. Free booze and food....shitty hockey and two fights (should of been three) that lasted about 5 seconds each.
Flyers got dominated. We looked sluggish the entire game, save for the first 3 minutes of the second period. Our defense was terrible, hanging Leighton up to dry. Was a shitty game to watch.
San Jose laying down the hurt. Let in too many, though.
Jesus, tonight's Pens/Devils game was one of the worst officiated games I've seen in a long, long time.
I really hope the Flyers try to keep that kind of intensity for the rest of the season. That was an awesome game.
dirty dirty dirty. i wonder how the NHL will react to this one....

Yeah so I been pretty pissed with officiating lately. And ruling on suspensions. And the all French ref team in Montreal last night.
Lol I love how the announcer is gratifying Ovechkin for waving his left hand to acknowledge he was hurt. How nice. He probably would have looked less of an asshole if he just skated away.

Hard to argue against the call. Best case scenario, what was Ovechkin hoping would come from that playing? Pushing a guy, high on his back, hard into the boards. Maybe there wasn't intent to injure, but what the fuck was the intent? There is absolutely no play there.
And wow. Rules say two game misconducts get you an automatic one game suspension, unless the misconducts are more than 41 games apart. This was game 42 from Ovechkin's last game misconduct. Almost like he had it marked on his calendar.
Sometimes the best movies are the ones we make up...
Because it's a book about a man who doesn't know
He's about to die, and then dies.
But if a man does know he's about to die and dies anyway,
Dies willingly, knowing that he could stop it, then I mean,
Isn't that the type of man who you want to keep alive?-Zach Helm
I'm not justifying him pushing Campbell, but you see that Campbell's skate get spun arond in a rut which if that hadn't happened he wouldn't of fallen.
Go Buckeyes/Skins/CAPS!
Coaches should be telling hockey players the same thing they tell football players. If you see the guy's numbers pull up and don't make the check. That was textbook boarding. That being said, I have no idea how the make the determination between major/minor and whether to add a misconduct in the NHL. It seems like they simply go on how badly hurt the other player is.
